IPFF is proud to present the Pole Postures™, a trademark guide to pole dance & fitness poses, a compact 200-page pocket size handbook for students and instructors.

The IPFF has sought to formulate as concise as possible a language for describing the holds and poses which are performed in pole fitness. In addition to providing our members with the traditional names of many of the most popular pole fitness skills, we have provided our members with descriptive names we derived based on the appearance and action of each of positions. The Pole Postures book glossary details the explanations for the words we have used to describe some of the terms, such as  holds, spins, inverts, e.t.c. We do not propose the following definitions to encompass the full scope of each of the words defined; rather, we simply intend to delineate the meaning of these words as we have used them in their respective contexts in conjunction with the poses displayed in pictorial form in the book.

As pole fitness evolves, so will our language and thus so shall our dictionary. This is by no means a comprehensive delineation of the full range of pole fitness skills, but we feel at this time that it provides a sufficient cross-section of skills to enable the viewer and practitioner to understand the language we suggest for use in the description of pole fitness sport and art.

The publication is not for sale but rather a gift tool to our studio members who shall receive them in their welcome packages. Individual members are more than welcome to use the digital images posted on this page from time to time for personal use.
